The Brownlee Team was notified by the the Regional Virus Laboratory that some HIV Viral Load tests carried out between March 2017 and August 2017 may have given inaccurate results.
This issue only affected the HIV Viral Load. No other blood tests were affected.
The Brownlee team worked with staff from the Regional Virus Laboratory and was able to identify all patients who may be at clinical risk due to the possibility that their last HIV Viral Load result may not be accurate.
The team is contacting all patients believed to be at clinical risk to inform and offer the opportunity to have the HIV Viral Load test repeated.
You can discuss the issue with your HIV specialist when you next attend the clinic.
